The Inner Compost Pile

We all have one. You know, the place where we send our deepest, darkest secrets and desires. The place where dark thoughts can be stored for future use. Eventually, however, as with all composting piles, the transformation of what is being composted is inevitable. The question begs: how do dark thoughts transform? For some, into light. Others, yet a deeper, darker abyss.

Interestingly, composting, the natural process of organic matter transforming itself into nutrient-rich soil/fertilizer, is a complex process involving chemical reactions, bacteria, fungi, and other outside influences. In other words, organic (living) material "decays," resulting in "life-giving" nutrients. Researching the steps of composting is a clear indication that God thought of everything when creating the Earth; even waste deterioration was brilliantly designed as a fail-safe form of renewal, creating new life from old life. Is it possible that the same transformation process is available for the transformation of those inorganic matters that lie waiting in one’s inner composting pile? Like fear, greed, jealousy, hatred, revenge, guilt, and anger?

But of course! God has also laid plans to facilitate conscious change, that is, making conscious change choices to introduce new thoughts that can overwrite old, limiting thoughts lying in compost – awaiting release into something useful and productive.

An organic compost pile undergoes three distinct cycles before achieving full transformation. Bacteria, single-celled microorganisms (tiny, tiny) that are everywhere (some bacteria are harmful, most are beneficial), are attracted to "spent" organic matter like white on rice, creating heat. A new bacteria moves in, creating an even hotter pile, breaking down the decaying matter by type: proteins, fats and complex carbs – all awaiting their next assignment while remaining materials attract other "agents of change" until renewal of the pile is complete.

Thoughts like fear, envy, greed, hatred, revenge, and the like are at the top of the heap when it comes to one's innermost compost pile – we all have one. Part of life's journey is to consciously transform the dark secret(s) that lurk into something productive. So what can be done about the inner compost pile that is constantly waiting to pounce on a moment’s notice?

The first step is to come clean. That is, define what's sitting on your innermost compost pile that needs to be reversed. Is it jealousy? The need to get revenge? Holding on to an anger vibe, especially over something outside of your own electromagnetic field? Again, there's always at least one dark vibe lingering in the pile. Stand in your truth to see what yours is. Resentment, a trickle-down gift from my parents, seems to be my lifelong ick to repel. Lifelong.

After knowledge of the dark shadow lurking is brought to the conscious mind, step two is to create a wall of light (heat) around the issue and create an intention to let the innermost compost pile know that it's time for healing – a transformation – to eradicate the old. For me, my intention was/is (still working on the transformation of resentment) to be aware of and free from any and all thoughts that fuel any resentment. Dark thoughts that linger in the innermost compost pile have an amazing way of triggering ill health. For me, resentful thoughts trigger indigestion – pain in my solar plexus, not to mention other trickle-down effects. For others, it might be arthritis or asthma. Held long enough, untransformed dark thoughts on the heap eventually allow cancer a foothold. How much more discomfort must one endure when on some divine level all that's necessary is conscious change?

Once an intention is clearly established and paraded before the eyes/mind on a regular basis, the same way helpful bacteria are attracted to an organic compost pile, events and circumstances that help the conscious change transformation are divinely delivered. Soul delivers to me the most unique challenges that trigger my solar plexus, alerting me that I must simply try harder – the challenge (transforming potential) is not yet over. Step 3: an affirmation that can reroute the shadow thought. For me, "nothing I think or see about anything has any power over my thoughts."

Beware, the path to conscious change is long, arduous, and cleverly designed.  As a being of Light; the path is designed to enlighten…er, transform the pile.

            You in?

AFFIRMATION: As a light being, I am constantly transforming.
