Understanding the Periodic Table of Elements
The Periodic Table of Elements is a graphic grid collection of all the currently known elements on Earth. The first 98 elements exist in nature. Elements 99-118 have been synthesized in labs or nuclear reactors. The Periodic Table of Elements was created by Dimitri Mendeleev in 1869 to organize the atomic elements in one place. Each square on the Periodic Table displays all of a specific element’s components (e.g., atomic mass, electron configuration, etc.). The table’s design organizes the elements in a fashion of vertical and horizontal relationships that are quite amazing. In his wisdom, Mendeleev left blank spaces for elements yet to be discovered, such as Ununseptium, which was discovered in 2010.
