New Age Warrior or Follower?(Originally Published 4/6/2021)

The official dawning of the new Aquarian Age has begun.  Planetarily speaking, in December of 2020, Earth passed from its relationship with the constellation Pisces, where it had been for 2000 years, into the constellation of Aquarius, where it will remain for the next 2000 years.  Even though we have been cusping into the Age of Aquarius since the late 1960s, we will be spending the next fifty years fully cusping out of the Age of Pisces.  The Age of Aquarius is about introducing a new way of life that borders on a more global, brotherly, humanitarian way of thinking and acting.  These new consciousness’ do not come without a price, however.

Ever try to change something, a pattern you don’t like, for example, about yourself?  Change never seems to occur with the snap of the fingers.  Change is usually accompanied by fear, anger, pain, abandonment and other assorted shadow life aspects.  Soul manages to produce events and circumstances to drive us to change as a matter of course.  If we flow with the change, fear and pain are lessened.  Fighting inevitable change will only leave us behind in the dust, living a lackluster life.  Let’s consider the case of the butterfly.

Every school-age child knows that a butterfly starts from an egg, forms into a cocoon and eventually emerges as a butterfly.  The truth is, if you took a cocoon ready to birth into a butterfly and cut it open, the emerging insect would be colorless; it is in the pain the butterfly experiences to come out of the cocoon that causes the butterfly’s wings to fill with color.

Look around your life.  Take inventory.  Where is change screaming at you?  What closet can you clean out?  What relationship can you mend?  What service group can you join?  What child can you mentor?  What habits need updating: recycling, praying, being grateful, calling Mom or Dad more often, giving a sincere compliment, spreading love, joy, peace, blah, blah.

Every change you make that brings you closer to respect, compassion and truth bring the global brotherhood to these same qualities.  The expression of your changes will bring light to the planet.  Consider this:

A little-3-year old girl at a fair turned around out of nowhere and waved and smiled at my husband.  He was delighted.  She brought light to the world.

A Native American Indian Tribe braves the bitter cold for many months to peacefully protest a drilling project they felt is detrimental to our planet’s wellbeing.  In protesting oil drilling, raising consciousness about our planet’s wellbeing, the Native Tribe brings light to the world.

I’m writing this piece sitting in the middle of the ocean on a small boat, surrounded by a beautifully cloud-dotted blue sky.  Calm, eighty-two degrees.  I’m grateful for the opportunity and privilege provided to me on this life path – down into my solar plexus for this exact experience.  My gratitude brings light to the world.

It doesn’t matter where you are at the moment, a jail, a hospital, a war zone, at the edge of an exploding volcano or stuck in a wheelchair.  Change is upon us.  What is your commitment to change?  Are you a warrior or a follower?  They are both good.  Decide and act.  Follow your spirit’s purpose and watch your life take in new dimensional blessings of the spirit kind.

Affirmation: I am a spiritual warrior.
