Life Path Map Markers

ree

At this precise moment, channeling in from the bazillions of sources in nature (plants, animals, birds, colors, insects, elements/minerals) are details for your destiny/life path. Unfortunately, birth didn't come with a life path map. To add to the confusion, one's birth places them in circumstances (familial and cultural, to name a few) that often present confusion and conflicts to the depths of one's spirit – the truth of who one really is.

The good news is that with one’s powers of observation – everyone is born with these – and a willingness to step out on faith, innate from birth but enhanced by spiritual study, direction for the steps everyone needs is delivered.

Case in point: the picture on this blog was recently taken by me. In it, you see one lone, solitary sunflower. The greenery before it is weeds – twenty feet of weeds in front and on both sides. Behind the sunflower is a slow-moving river. I used this weed field to deposit all my garden refuse. I have never hosted sunflowers in my thirty years of gardening. A visual such as this unexplainable beautiful sunflower's appearance is certainly a marker on my life's map. Because of whom I am, I had to discern its meaning and, of course, share it with my curious readers.

A little backstory first. At this moment in time, I am in a huge material transition as my career interests have done a 360. I must eat and shelter myself through this transition without a serious income, which relates to change. Change equals fear. Fear blocks all spiritual and psychic transmission. As a writer, I have come to rely on psychic guidance of what to research, what to read and specific topics to write about. Perfect information and guidance have always been delivered to me in what always seems to be "just in the nick of time." The "nick of time" essence is great for strengthening one's faith, but can be nerve-wracking as well. Six months before Madam Sunflower appeared, my writing/researching energy was scattered. I was ignoring my reading/writing studio, questioning my life path. I have been writing forever; I'm not famous. Why bother?

Enter the sunflower. A powerful combination of yellow (power) and orange (karma) and surrounded by green (love). What is my map marker trying to tell me? Messages from nature can often be revealed by studying animals, plants, birds or reptiles (totem) mating habits, structure and growing habits. The sunflower is a late-blooming flower. Message 1: Late blooming is okay. I often hear myself asking, “Who do I think I am becoming a published writer so late in life?” The sunflower shifts throughout the day to face the sun's light, made possible by water buildup on the shady side of the stem to arc towards the light wherever it is. Message 2: Keep my eyes on the light. The outcome (my fame) is not important.

I'm writing a novel and am still undecided about the culture of my characters. I'm vacillating between Incan, Mayan and African American. Native Americans never occurred to me. When I researched the mysticism of the sunflower, I learned that Native Americans cultivated sunflowers for their seeds and healthy oils. Message 3: Novel characters will derive from Native American heritage. Duh, I’ve been studying and notating about Native Americans for the last twenty years. Why was this decision such a struggle?

Sunflowers are simple reminders of the Sun's cycles. Did you know that the Sun emits different variations of color that tell a plant to grow, seed or shut down? Message 4: Life is a cycle. It's okay to have given my writing a rest.

Ted Andrews, writer of Nature Speak, says aligning with the energy of a sunflower can draw protective lions and fire dragons into one's environment. Message 5: All I need is provided—move on fearlessly.

Finally, the color of yellow. Yellow correlates to chakra 3, the chakra in charge of absorbing solar energy. One is unable to take in the Sun’s energy when chakra three is festered in fear. Message 6: TRUST that I wouldn't be given the idea and details for a fantastic novel if every detail was not going to be provided. Trust, trust, trust.

What is smack dab in the middle of your life map that you are ignoring? Is a squirrel invading your territory? What’s the message? Is a robin singing so loud on your windowsill that it’s irritating? Robins are about new growth – where do you need to grow? Does the House have ants? Ants work in a sphere of discipline. Have you lost your discipline? Does a turtle appear in your yard? Turtles have exceptional hearing. Are you listening or flapping your jaw? Attracted to giraffes? Is everything you go to put on blue? Black? Purple? Map markers come in the form of insects, plants, animals, flowers and colors and are here to serve up Soul's messaging. Markers are everywhere and are constantly changing out, providing new guidance and useful messaging.

Are you listening? Watching? Discerning? I'm a mere mortal, just like you. Check out the many "metaphysical" meanings of all those "nature totems" that appear out of the blue, like my sunflower. Then…get moving. Life paths aren't around forever, you know!

AFFIRMATION: All I need is provided.

Author's Note: I noticed the sunflower and immediately had unexplainable writing energy (one day, I wrote for three different books I'm in the middle of.) About a week after I noticed (and photographed the sunflower every day), I decided to research and write this blog. My point-you don't have to consciously know the "why" or "what" the message is all about. One merely needs to acknowledge that some form of nature has sprung up or into your life. The messaging takes care of itself.
