Intention Q&A (Originally Published 3/5/2021)

I previously defined intentions as the energetic force that brings our desires to fruition; the centrifugal force that magnetizes or attracts (or repels) all that is needed to manifest a well-set intention.

The concept of intention has replaced the word “goal”—a 1990’s buzzword of attainment—and with it a little deeper meaning.  Below are some of the frequently asked questions I receive about intention making, along with my responses to them:

Q:  I created an intention four years ago to meet the man of my dreams and still no man.

A:  The Intentions one makes are Soul’s way of moving us into the arena of preparation to receive the manifestation of our intention.  Soul is the “urger” of the intentions that lay upon our hearts.

The obvious answer would be it isn’t time yet for the appearance of your dream man.  I would suggest you still might have some healing/forgiving/ongoing work to do.  Ask yourself the following questions.  The answer will be found in your truthful responses.

1)       Are you ready for dream boy?  Healthy male and female relationships are part of Earth’s design.  If you are not part of desired man-woman relationships, it could mean several things:

a.      You’re not ready

b.      He’s not ready

c.       It’s not something you really want

What conscious changes have you made to yourself since the last relationship that will allow Soul to deposit the right being into your heart?  What books have your read that have caused you to stand up to old, limiting patterns about yourself?  Any intention requires preparation for the receipt of it.

Q:  I created an intention ten years ago that by forty years of age I’d be wealthy and retired from my career.  I’m thirty-eight and nowhere close to my intention.

A:  Be careful what you ask for!  I often hear this sort of complaint about the lack of results for an intention.  I would suggest the above intention is extremely vague, probably narcissistic, and for the most part, quite impossible.  Can you really expect Soul to support this?

Soul’s guidance is to always lead on a journey predesigned—our life path or mission.

If we hold on to an intention that does not serve us or the collective will, the intention will eventually manifest, but it often won’t look like what we thought it would look like.  The simple intention of wealthy and retired at forty could mean you end up in a wheelchair, resulting from an auto accident that paralyzed you while you received a large monetary settlement.

Take a look at those intentions (or goals) from years ago.  Chances are some updating (Soul searching) would be in order.  Be sure to include a clear mental picture of what a successful intention will look like.

Q:  I’ve created an intention to have a loving family.  My family history is dysfunctional, to say the least.  I’m doing my part with patience, kindness, and forgiveness but things are only getting worse.  Any thoughts?

A:  Many, many thoughts!

First rule of intention setting:  never create an intention that involves another human being without their permission or enthusiastic agreement.  Everyone has their own life path or life mission.  Who do you think you are to use your intention power to change their life the way you want?  Conversely, when two people (especially male and female…the yin/yang) agree on the same intention, the ability to manifest that intention is almost 100%.

A failed intention can often provide beautiful insight into Soul’s messaging to you.  Do you need to redefine the word “family” in your mind?  Perhaps Soul wants you to expand your definitions of family from core family to friends as family to your country as family or even the world as your family.

Don’t stop those terrific life changing qualities—patience, kindness and forgiveness.  Expand this intention and watch your life expand.

Q:  Do accomplishments happen without making a specific intention?

A:  Not usually.  Intended results happen when and only when we are vibrationally ready to receive them.  Family and friends have been telling me since I was twenty-five years old that I am a writer, yet it took forty years for me to effectuate what they saw into an actual career.  I never believed I was a writer, so no intention was set into motion by me.

Clearly made, intentions create a vibrational “wave” of energy that MUST manifest under certain conditions.  It’s a law of our Universe as equal and powerful as gravity.  It wasn’t until an astrologer told me when I was sixty-three years old that I would write a book that would “be incredibly successful,” that the intention to write was made by me.  Soul then backed my intention with enthusiastic (Greek for God within) actions.  Within one year, the money and support team (typist, manager, graphics, media, etc.) were all set into place and the rest is history.  My vibrational activity was in alignment with the intention.  It is always Soul’s good pleasure to provide all the necessary details in the attainment of an intention.  Once we clearly set the intention.

Q:  Are only light-filled intentions attainable?

A:  Excellent question!  Universe (creator source, Allah, God) does not discriminate between whether an intention is light- or shadow-filled.  You can create an intention and passionately prepare for the results whether it’s to become the Unabomber, a serial killer, or a successful author.  Soul uses both shadow- and light-filled intentioned triumphs to support change, teach lessons, and pay off karma.  Quite simply, we are a planet of good and evil.  Humans have the power of choice which energetic force will be behind everything that happens.

Remember to always search the motive behind your intentions.  The two choices really are spiritual or material.  They are equally ok.  One lands you in the spiritual path.  The other choice lands you in the material path.  Earth is a planet of duality where you can make path choices.  Each path has a different road.  Again, it’s your choice.

We are making intentions both consciously and unconsciously every day.  When we look at something and think, “I hate” you create an intention to have more of what you hate appear in your life.  Soul is not a fan of us hating anything.  Hate is quite a killjoy to the vibration of love.  As a result, Soul’s staging abilities will be sure to keep the irritant that you hate, the hated person, item, annoyance, job, etc., as part of your learning assignment.

Affirmation:  I visualized and claim clear light filled intentions.
