Just as politics, medicine and education is in a state of flux and evolution, it should come as no surprise that each and every one of us is also fluxing…that is, evolving towards the many unique archetypes (personalities) ascribed by one’s own personal and individualized birth design. Part of one’s unique birth design is the birth or astrological sign one is born under.
Probably the most transitory sign over the last forty years has been the sign of Scorpio. The sign of Scorpio is governed by the planet Pluto, the 9th planet from the Sun. Those governed by Pluto (that is, their physical and spirit DNA is designed to resonate with Plutonian aspects) are deeply passionate. Passion is one of the foundations deeply seeded in the emotional mind-body. The deeply passionate Scorpio, until about forty years ago, had the Scorpion as their “animal” symbol. Most animal symbols of the Zodiac carry attributes of that zodiac sign for the person under the influence of that sign.
A study of the predatory Scorpion (a member of the arachnid [spider] family) is characterized by eight legs, two grasping pinchers and a stinger. According to Wikipedia, scorpions have been evolving on Earth over the last 435 million years. Known for its venomous sting, the arachnid scorpion is famous for playing (teasing) with its prey like a fox before injecting its deadly stinger, waiting for the death of their victim, and then dining.
Scorpions, like most arachnids, are nocturnal. Over time, the Scorpion evolved from living in a water environment to living on land. Scorpions are in every ecosystem on the planet, which belies their ability to change according to their environment – a Scorpio trait enjoyed by no other astrological sign.
If you know any Scorpios forty years or older, chances are they have a propensity for patiently “playing” with their prey before issuing an acerbic sting when they have been rebuked or double-crossed. Typically, Scorpios are night people – up late and are emotionally pliable. Determined, jealous and forceful are words that best describe the over forty-year-old Scorpio.
Fast forward to modern-day Scorpio, those under forty years of age. Those ruled by Scorpio have evolved from using scorpion-survival tendencies to those charactaristics of the Dove. Dove energy is completely opposite to that of the Scorpion. Dove energy (Dove is one of my feminine totems) is not aggressive or prideful but is a reminder that one can choose a more peaceful, authentic and spirit-based response to shadow feelings of resentment and jealousy.
Those born after 1988 under the astrological sign of Scorpio have been evolving from using the symbolic scorpion killer energy to that of the Dove’s mournful promise of a deep emotional awakening; to the promise of leading the collective towards a more light-filled future.
Of course, the Scorpio will always carry the tendencies to sting – it’s how the Scorpio is birth-wired. However, the new-age Scorpio is carrying the torch of evolution that brings promise to all spirits facing the challenges of the shift from the Piscean age (last 2000 years) to the Aquarian Age (next 2000 years).
From sting to mournful musical reminders of love, I’d say that’s a huge shift in just forty years! Thank God!
How are you transforming?
AFFIRMATION: I transform as I am directed by Soul in the ways of love.
P.S. I am often asked what inspires my blogs. I usually write a blog to someone who has come to me for conscious change advice or from an inequity of the simplest kind that I observed. This blog was birthed by meeting and interacting with three new Scorpios I met in one week, all quite by coincidence. Or was it?
