Fat Albert

On the boat to our fishing hole in the Gulf of America, it became clear to me how the mind assigns duties to the rest of the senses (yes, the mind is the CEO of the senses) without my permission. Case in point, the first leg of our journey requires very close scrutiny as to the depth of water so we don't run aground. As we navigate a very narrow channel for the first 5 miles, the captain, in this case my husband, must pay attention, or we will hit coral and stall. (I may have had an experience with this once or twice over the years.)

            You know you have finally become free of depth restraints when Fat Albert is visible. Fat Albert is a large white blimp that hangs in the sky, allowing police authorities to keep their eyes on international waterways. Today, the clouds are so low that Fat Albert is not visible. His pulleys allow him a 20-40' height adjustment.

            The surrounding outer islands are now confusing my own directional acumen at the moment because my internal compass must have been tied first to seeing and plotting Albert’s location. EEK! I feel so lost.

            The realization that my mind decided for me, without any conscious direction on my part, to make Fat Boy my guiding light is concerning. What other "fat boys" are log-jamming my truth?

            For the last two years, I have been amazed at how some of my closest friends are so adamant about their political party, which, of course, is not my current party of choice. The only possible and logical reason in my mind for their belief system had to be hypnotism. And then I wondered…

            How did Fat Boy hypnotize my mind, hijacking it to be clearer? I was guided into depending on him as my "go-to" choice when navigating the boat. My mind did all that—all on its own. Without him, I became disoriented. Wow, that's power.

            Just sayin’

AFFIRMATION: I pray this moment that all my unconscious directives are light-filled.
