Experimenting With Truth

ree

Of all the qualities available for spirit improvement, I believe right up there competing for pole position is Truth. Being truthful, really truthful ALL THE TIME, takes great courage and resolve. As spirit-beings-having-a-human-experience, it is incumbent that one master truthfulness. Blog Warning: Reading this blog any further MAY cause discomfort, possible feelings of guilt and quite possibly the development of a life-changing idea. Read on at your own risk.

Glad you stayed! Truth is a quality, a trait, a skill that must be developed to become a permanent part of one’s “auto-response” mechanisms. Developing one’s truth quotient is like developing one’s muscles to complete certain tasks. The first step in truth development is to uncover all of the untruths, those unconscious responses, excuses and inventive statements that spew from the mind on autopilot. Stop right now. Yes, even those of you who believe every minute of your life is truth-lived have moments of untruth. What is untruth? See if you see yourself here. Anywhere.

Have you tasted a grape or two at the produce counter? That's stealing. Stealing is untruth. "Borrowed" the office copy machine without permission to copy a litany of recipes? That is stealing. Stealing is untruth. Copied a favorite CD for a friend? That is stealing. Stealing is untruth.

And that’s just stealing! Jealousy and gossip are untruth. Who are we to believe that someone else has more than their share of blessings? Further, who are we to speak falsities (gossip) about someone or something else? One never has all the facts about a situation to gossip the truth.

How about those little white lies we tell to cover lateness, not enough money to pay a bill or a "made up" excuse (lie) about not meeting someone who is pressing to meet up with you again? What's wrong with saying, "I lost track of time" (truth), "I overspent my income," or "At this time, I don't think meeting up again would be beneficial to both of us" (truth)? For the empowering results of truth to manifest in one's life experiences, truth must be expressed everywhere, in all situations, at ALL times, regardless of the circumstances.

Changing to the "truth no matter what" mantra is life-changing. Next time you hear yourself lying, make an internal personal commitment to stop. This is conscious change. Then, when you consciously stop yourself from speaking a conjured-up lie you were prepared to tell and tell the truth instead, pat yourself on the back and prepare for the spirit's reward of a life made just a little bit easier.

One’s actions are the precursors to what one experiences in one's life. In life’s experiences, lies create shadow results, while truth creates light-filled experiences. Aren't you glad there are always choices?
