Easing God Out

Take a look at the first letter of each word in the title: E. G. O. The word ego, Latin for "I," was a 1990s buzzword in conversations about ID, super ID and ego. All three are touted as divisions of the psyche that constantly mediate between human reality and truth.
Interesting that the word ego, normally associated with one's sense of self-worth, conceit and self-justification, is rarely used anymore. But even though the ego is not quite the buzzword it used to be, the ego is still the driver behind self-justification – a reasoning process that often blinds one to the untruth about the circumstances one finds oneself in.
We recently saw ego-driven "boasts" in the Senate cabinet confirmation hearings earlier this year. Everyone's ego (including the candidate being questioned) was on the line for all to see. A lot of anger was at play. A simple sign of ego at play is the expression of anger. Why get angry if one is not trying to protect some deep-seated ideology? Why publicly attack someone who wants to bring change even if the change will make your life different? Notice I didn't say better or worse – just different.
Right about now as you are reading this you are thinking, "I don't have ego issues," or "My ego doesn't control me." HA! We are spirit-beings-having-a-human-experience, and as such, the human part of us HAS AN EGO. But egos are not bad in and of themselves. The ego is the energetic driver of all we do – like it or not. But the ego is pliable, changeable, and fluid. Thankfully, the ego can be massaged and manipulated according to your will: light-responsive or shadow-responsive. Want to work towards filling your mind with light rather than "easing God out" of your mind? Of course, you do. Who wouldn't? The secret lies in simply identifying with the spirit self instead of the human self in daily living.
Beware, however, once you have agreed to stop easing God out by decision-making using egotistical values (I must win, it must be my way, I can untruth my way through this – get it?) and turning toward truth and spirit-based guidelines (God's got this, all my abundance is provided by Creator Source, my value is in the love I carry in my heart – get it?) as a foundation for every decision and action one takes, the force of ego is repurposed if you will and more light will be channeled through you. By light I mean you will only experience more joy, joy, joy in your life's endeavors.
Get it?
