What's In Your Intention Bank?(Originally Published 10/8/2021)

Even I am sometimes flabbergasted by the amazing power of intention. I’m wondering why the unlimited force of intention isn’t more widely observed and utilized. Or is it? The power behind intentions is non-discriminatory. That is, “intention force” does not decide whether an intention is good or bad. Intentions filled with light produce in the same manner as shadow-filled intentions.
It is the human mind behind an intention that fuels an intention’s outcome. The “force” doesn’t really care what the intention is any more than electrical force cares what type of appliance is plugged into a power outlet. Intention force merely seeks to produce what mind has intended – an expression of one’s creative force.
An intention is the first step in the production of any desired outcome. Wikipedia reports that to date there are 7,800,000,000 (that’s 7.8 billion) pairs of feet inhabiting Earth. Each person has their own individualized intention making ability. In a perfect world, if 7.8 billion people collectively intentioned planetary prosperity or global peace – thy will would be done. However, Earth is designed in perfect polarity. At any given time about 50% of the Earth’s population possesses light-filled thoughts about themselves and others and the other 50% of Earthlings are toying with shadow thoughts. Shadow thinking includes thoughts of fear, greed, jealousy, and the like. The good news is if your intentions are always light filled so will be your experiences. Of course, conversely, shadow intentions and affirmations create after their kind as well.
First comes Intention. Intentions design the words we speak in the form of affirmations. Here are some examples of shadow affirmations spoken without thought of their results:
· That joke was so funny I thought I would die.
· I have cancer.
· My diabetes is acting up.
· I hate my job (or any hate statements for that matter.)
· I’m broke.
· I need a job (or needing anything.)
· I am depressed (lonely, sad….)
Do you see yourself in any of these shadow affirmations? Why would anyone want to claim cancer, poverty, depression, joblessness, or even death?
A properly designed intention contains three components:
1. An Intention is stated in the present tense. (i.e., I have cancer.)
2. An Intention claims a desire as if the desire has already happened. (i.e., I am broke.)
3. An Intention is believable and probable. (i.e., My diabetes is acting up.)
The intention maker adds the light or shadow aspect to any intention/affirmation with the power of their mind.
The fuel behind a successful affirmation (shadow or light-filled) is the spoken word. Everyone has talked “trash” at some point in their life with trash results. Imagine if you powered-up an affirmation like “I speak only light-filled statements,” or “Only words of love and light are spoken by me.” Any of these two affirmations spoken out loud daily for 30 days cannot but help to prevent shadow statements (and thoughts) like the ones mentioned above, spoken without conscious thought, from crossing over one’s tongue and lips. Consider the following.
One of my conscious change mentees had been trying to sell her house without the help of a realtor for over four months. Her affirmations were, “I need to sell my house at $350,000” and “I can’t list my house with a realtor because I’d have to pay real estate commissions and won’t have enough money to move” – both shadow affirmations. My mentee reinforced her intention to “sell her house” by putting a for sale sign out front but her spoken affirmations were in direct conflict with her intention. (Who are we to tell the universe HOW to do something and at what price?)
Most of the time, shadow affirmations are subconsciously created because of some underlying issue that one is either not aware of or not willing to face. In my mentee’s case, she was also getting ready to tie the knot. After some inquiry we determined her real issue was the fear that if she sold her house and the marriage didn’t work out, she could be homeless. After some conscious change coaching she recognized her fear, and we created the affirmation “My house sells in God’s perfect timing.” Intention force cannot help but produce results when a well-defined intention is supported by waiting on a power greater than yourself.
Within ten days of our coaching session, my neighbor listed her house with a realtor. She and her fiancé bought a beautiful new home and her house sold for more than it was listed for. Intention force? You betcha!

AFFIRMATION: I recognize my fears and replace them with light-filled intentions and affirmations.
