The Easter Change

Easter is always celebrated along with the first full moon (light) after the Spring Equinox. The Spring Equinox is always on March 21. Around the world, every culture and religious tradition celebrates the event of “spring,” which is about the message of the March 21 equinox. The Spring Equinox's complementary event is the Fall Equinox, which occurs every September 23.
Equinoxes, however, are not just one-day events when technically Sun is exactly above the equator in the celestial sky. The passing of an equinox actually delivers important, soul-guided “messaging” from the heavens. In fact, an equinox is a time when Earth’s polarity is in perfect balance. Equinoxes bring a portal of opportunities.
Easter, spring…call it what you will, is the beginning of a new chapter of potentialities. The ideas (seeds) that have been stored in the unconscious (developed during the time between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox) are now waiting to be planted, watered and fertilized. Where in your life could you stand a little growth? What needs changing that you have put off?
The Spring Equinox, charged with the full moon’s light or “vision of the future,” is the perfect time to reset one’s vision for one’s own individualized future. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE is the message of the Spring Equinox. But, like any successful venture, preparation is necessary, AHEAD of time. The Lenten Season is the time of preparation to experience the “new” potentialities of your birthright.
Lent is a culturally and religiously driven period of forty days designed to consciously emphasize that one can, even MUST, prepare to activate one's hidden potential. The time period before Easter’s blast of light (and the full moon’s assistance of energetic force) is produced by another planetary event: a solstice.
December 21 of last year hosted the Winter Solstice. Unlike an equinox where Sun is exactly above the equator, a solstice reflects a time where Sun is furthest from the equator rather than centered over the equator (the equinox). The Winter Solstice literally signals all Earth life to batten down the hatches in preparation for a “death to the old” in preparation for what is to come.
To take advantage of the Spring Spark, the Spring Equinox, the dross must be burned; the old must be released in preparation to receive the new. Jesus said that one cannot put new wine into old wineskins.
So, here’s your Lenten challenge. The challenge is here regardless of whether you accept it or not. Why not use the beautiful, energetic resources Creator Source put in place for human growth and evolution to create a more light-filled existence for both yourself AND the collective.
It’s simple, really. Pick a trait or quality about yourself you’d like transformed. We all have one or two. Perhaps the judgment of others haunts you. Maybe greed is on every thought you have. Jealousy is always a good thing to eradicate. My favorite: anger. Anger is defined as the reaction of someone whose needs were not met. Hopefully, the way of the Winter Solstice (death to the old) has been on some level part of your existence. It is now time to repurpose the old by preparing for what lies ahead. Create an opening in your mind with an affirmation like, “I release ________________ so that I am filled with spring light.” Or, “All my thoughts rise above ____________ that I may see truth and that I may BE truth.”
For the next week, dig deep into the lessons the Winter Solstice has been urging you to evolve from. Forty days of pure spiritual energy await you as the Lenten season of preparation begins next Wednesday. To help you keep a true Lent, every Thursday I will provide thought-provoking ideas to guide your quest for a more light-filled life.
Caution! I have been consciously working with the Spring Equinox growth for the last nine years. Every Lenten season has presented me with a specific situation that has strongly tested my pursuit of a more light-filled existence. Darkness personified, actually. Each year, I came out of the Lenten season like a wet noodle. Each year, my spiritual growth is phenomenal. Quite rewarding, but I feel this disclaimer is imperative. It’s okay to say, “not this year.” But if you ignore the way Universe sets up growth spurts, I can promise you, without a strong connection to your Soul-self, the spirit-being-having-a-human-experience will wander in spiritual darkness – not a pleasant place to be.
Looking forward to our next 40 days together. In fact, confirm your commitment to coming out of the season of preparation, Lent, by inviting one friend to join you on this Light-filled journey. Accountability can be had when inviting a friend into your web of Light.
