Spirit Filled Thoughts and Emotions

The spirit-being-having-a-human-experience is energetically charged by human “material” desires and emotions. The beauty of the spirit-human experience is that the spirit self, by its very nature, is the creative side of every human experience. Said another way, the spirit aspect of the human being has the mystical power to eventually create and produce or manifest whatever the human being, the physical/material self, has thoughts and desires about and goes into action to achieve; the result of a conscious cognitive process.

A respected study in 2020 suggests that a typical human being hosts over 6000 thoughts per day. Do the math. Subtracting seven hours of sleep leaves seventeen waking hours in a day. That’s almost 356 thoughts every hour or six thoughts every minute. I’m tired just thinking about this.

Each new human thought usually carries with it an emotional response trigger. One looks at a rising Sun and feels gratitude for being able to catch a glimpse of such beauty, while someone who is prematurely awakened by the Sun feels angry maybe because it signifies that they have to go to a job they detest. Same human experience, different responses. It’s the less-than-light-filled emotions I wish to discuss here.

Fear, anger, guilt, greed, jealousy, hatred, and revenge are the good ole “shadow” emotions I’m referring to, which are driven first by a thought. This is exactly how the human being is designed. . . thought then emotion. Whenever an action follows the thought-emotion spectrum, the outcome is either good or evil. Because, quite simply, we live on a planet of good and evil.

Conscious change is about looking at the events and circumstances of one’s life with a different eye and then adjusting those thoughts toward the spirit side of the spirit-material continuum of the mind. What man holds as evil, God uses for good. There will always be the expression of anger, fear, guilt, greed, jealousy, hatred, and revenge. . . those human emotions that one is guaranteed to experience as a birthright throughout life. The only way I know to consciously change and counteract those thoughts that trigger shadow emotions is to:

1.      Understand we are human and at 6000 thoughts per day, shadow emotions are bound to attach to some of those thoughts.

2.      Remember that every human experience has a material or worldly choice and a spiritual choice that is ALWAYS seeking to provide the mind a picture that can help one stay in faith instead of fear, move to love instead of hate and help one realize prosperity instead of greed, trust in the big picture instead of thoughts of jealousy. To possess confidence that God’s got this rather than getting angry because a need wasn’t met when you thought it should be: hold on to thoughts that “at this moment everything is perfect” instead of exacting revenge.
