Quartz

The mineral Quartz, composed of silicon and oxygen in a trigonal crystal system, is found in all forms of rocks. In fact, those white beaches and riverbeds one walks on are grains of quartz that have weathered over millions of years. Which may explain an almost universal attraction to beaches.

Quartz has been used in electronic devices for many, many years. Industrial use Quartz is manufactured in laboratories from a “seed crystal” of quartz that is carefully selected and free from impurities.

Natural Quartz crystal is mined from many countries all over the world. The majority of Quartz is found within hot hydrothermal veins deep within the Earth with inclusions of ore minerals like gold, silver and copper to name a few. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth’s crust after Feldspar – another electroneutral mineral.

Recently, researchers found Quartz and Zeolite crystals (a volcanic mineral) at the bottom of a Mayan water reservoir in the famous Mayan city of Tikal (600 BC), a city of more than 3,000 structures and home to 60,000 Mayans.  The Mayans were well ahead of their time when it came to managing water quality. Scientists surmise with good reason that the Quartz and Zeolite crystals in sand-sized grains together trapped microbes and heavy metals in their water. Just about every liquid we drink today from water to wine is filtered through a Zeolite crystal filter. Quartz is highly thermally conductive as well as being a pizeo electric resonator.

Pizeo electrical properties allow Quartz to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy or vice-versa. When a stimulus (such as an electric or battery charge) is applied, positive and negative charges are naturally separated and symmetrically distributed throughout the crystal’s structure making Quartz electrically neutral unlike many other crystals.

Agate and Jasper crystals are also Quartz crystals, but each has slower vibrational frequency rates than pure Quartz due to the various mineral inclusions that they formed with.

Pure Quartzes’, those constructed from one atom of silicon and two atoms of oxygen, are physically strong (7 on the moh’s scale) and are said to receive, transmit and store vibrational frequency for up to one million years. Imagine that!

Citrine, Amethyst, Chalcedony, Aventurine, Onyx, Tiger eye, Smokey Quartz and Rose Quartz are all Quartz crystals. Clear Quartz vibrates with pure yang (masculine) energy and is considered a window of light that can enhance psychic abilities when intention to do so is clearly stated. Clear Quartz also regulates the planetary influence that is received from the Sun and Moon in plants, animals, trees, and humans.

Double Terminated Quartz, that is clear Quartz having two distinct end points, allows vibrational energy to flow in two directions offering insight into the issues of one’s past and future as well as a portal to tap into Universal Life Force, when intention is created for that purpose.

Phantom Quartz, also known as a ghost crystal, is a Quartz crystal within a crystal. Created as a result of interruptions in the original crystal’s growth, Phantom Quartz crystals offer powerful healing possibilities when used with a well-designed intention of healing. Phantom Quartz crystals, because growth stopped and then resumed, can also be used to rebirth a project or regenerate a lost energy. Phantom Quartz crystals are considered a master crystal: crystals that contain data/guidance toward a more enlightened way of thinking.

There are six crystal systems. Quartz forms in the trigonal crystal system. The trigonal crystal system carries the vibrational frequency to energize any idea, problem, or project when a likewise intention is clearly set.

All crystal energy is received by the chakras and then disseminated to the mind bodies. Chakra 1, the “survival” root chakra is most closely aligned with the frequency of the trigonal crystal system.

Quartz crystals with their energizing archetype are great to have around the house, at work or on grids. Always muscle test to ensure any crystal you wish to apply to an intention is compatible with your own electromagnetic field.

Visit a crystal apothecary shop and take note of the crystals you are naturally attracted to. Muscle test for crystal compatibility. A positive muscle test result may indicate that a Quartz crystal’s vibrational frequency will be helpful to your body’s health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
