As a writer, I’m always looking for some sort of confirmation that I am writing in line with my own mission statement. I am committed to write books that help others yield to the presence of God along the journey known as life. Although that’s my mission statement and I try to stay focused on it, I find myself questioning if my messages and writings reflect my personal mission statement.
I’m writing the fourth book in my “Speak” book series entitled Mineral Speak, the Language of Minerals. My intention is to take the highly complicated information about minerals and health and present it in an easy to understand form. Complete a study on minerals and there’s no denying that there is a God! I never took a chemistry class in my life which is probably good because I had no predisposed ideas about the subject of elements and minerals.
Minerals are comprised of elements. There are 118 elements presently known to scientists that are cleverly organized on a graph called the Periodic Table of Elements. The most amazing tidbit I’ve learned so far is that starting with element 1, Hydrogen (which has 1 electron), the table contains 118 boxes that fully describes the properties of the 118 elements. The second element on the chart, Helium contains 2 electrons. Number 3 Lithium contains 3 electrons and so on for up to element 118, Oganesson with 118 electrons. Seriously? God added 1 electron more to Hydrogen exponentially for 118 times and absolutely every element on earth was created. My mind is completely in awe!
The confirmation that I am in alignment with my mission statement came this morning. I am easily 300 hours into the subject of minerals. Yesterday I went to my favorite nursery to seek out a solution for my new Robellini plant that has become host to a blue fur invasion. I could only leave my name and number at the plant store because no plant healers were available. I received a call from Jeremy the following day at 8:30 a.m. Jeremy, after hearing my robellini’s plight told me to go get liquid Copper. Copper? My hands were literally holding three pages of notes I recently accumulated about Copper that I was using to tell my future readers about how cool the element Copper is. I was in shock! What are the odds that Jeremy would call with advice to “go get copper” smack dab in the middle of my copper investigation?
