Ever feel like you’re swimming in a river that is comprised of currents and frequencies coming at you from a bazillion directions, pulling, pushing, prejudicing and prearranging circumstances without your approval? The River of Life looks different for everyone visually but the basic skills one needs to develop to swim allow one to upriver are all the same.
In these desperate times everyone is facing, inflation, fear of war, political unrest, school shootings, changing demographics, and pandemic fallout to name a few. Desperate times call for desperate measures. No better remedy for desperate times than to develop one’s prayer skills. Prayer is a conscious choice to look outside of the natural into the supernatural for the peace and serenity needed to “accept the things one cannot change.” After all, inflation, political unrest, etc. are the tools Soul uses to give each and every spirit walking Earth an opportunity to develop spiritual attributes; Light Skills. Once Light Skills are developed, the world waits so that the “collective” of newly developed Light Skilled beings can bring change to the world.
In this new age, it is only the skills of Light that will elicit change. Each and every being was born and fully charged a “being of light”. However, to stay electrified as light beings, one must be better connected to their Soul self, the part of a spirit’s psyche that offers guidance before choice. I know of no other way to energize the Soul-Spirit connection than prayer.
Prayer means so many things to different people.
Certain people of the spiritual persuasion carry the mantra, “Let go and let God.” The minute one consciously acquiesces to let go of anything and put the problem, loss, even gain into the hands of the King of resolutions, one turns the corner from crucifixion from the problem towards the resurrection of answers. Prayer is the link from the conscious mind of concern and worry into the realm of soultions.
When the mind is in relationship with a higher power source (God, Infinite Intelligence, Jehovah), there is no lack or problem. When in a prayerful mindset, once comes to see and believe that there is purpose to what is going on here on the third rock from the Sun. Inflation, war, political unrest, even school shootings are seen as Divinely designed to evolve and mature the human species. Always has been always will be. It would be nice if the evolution was collective, that is, that the entire planet at one time comes to understand that war, unkindness, greed, untruth, corruption, and separation are not the fruits of the spirit. However, a collectively enlightened planet is still only a dream.
Each and every human being is individually hard-wired to hear Soul guidance. When one consciously decides that the problem at hand is bigger than themselves and releases all authority over it to a higher power, one is in prayer. Prayer is not merely having a chat with God. Prayer is so much more. When one consciously takes the time to stop in their human tracks and switch gears to their spirit tracks, one is in acknowledgement of a power-greater-than-themselves – the beginning of experiencing light-filled soulutions for one’s mind and world.
There are many forms of prayer. A simple statement such as “thank you, God,” “God’s got this,” or “at this moment, everything is perfect,” are just a few examples of mindful prayer. Rote prayers such as those of the Christian tradition like The Our Father or Hail Mary are designed to take a busy mind into a quick meditation of something beyond the material. Rote praying in a group creates eddies of energy that channel in light. Collective prayer, that is one group asking God for a collective solution, although may well see the results of the prayer, is really about people taking a moment to be selfless – always a good teaching/learning experience.
Prayers of gratitude such as grace before a meal or a “thank you God” mantra (my personal favorite) when you get the last parking place at the mall, or you find hidden way in the back on a shelf at TJ Maxx the exact decorating article you were looking for are another form of prayer.
Prayer isn’t about begging for a healing or a change for someone else. No indeed! Prayer is about only one thing…YOUR relationship with a power greater than yourself; the mental and emotional acknowledgment that there even is a power greater than yourself that can do all things. When one prays, one tunes into a frequency not experienced by the unpraying.
Give prayer a try. It only costs the release of the ego. Who can’t afford to release that?
AFFIRMATION: I pray every day to increase my relationship with a power greater than myself.
