Living the Intention

During a recent business phone conversation, I was asked, "What's going on in your world?" After I presented my litany of projects I've been up to, they responded, "So, you're living the dream!" I was stopped in my tracks. Living the dream? Hmmmm. Not really. I'm not even sure what the dream is. For sure, however, I am living my intentions.
I think of a dream as something wished for. Sigmund Freud claimed that dreams represent one's unconscious desires and thoughts that one has repressed – afraid to experience or not deserving of the experience. Most often, a dream is a whimsical or distorted version of a wish, avers Freud.
Living the dream? Not at all. When that business call said, "Living the dream," my mind quickly ran into the past and questioned, "Is this moment in my life dream, or did I create it with my words and thoughts?" Clearly, I've created intentions that have led me every step of life's journey. This moment now is no different.
At this time in my life, I am waiting for my commercial building that has housed my four commercial businesses over the last thirty-plus years to sell so that I can complete the final phase of the next step in my transition journey. Along the way, I have been clearly working on God's Will, being the master of my journey. As a commercial real estate broker, I have prepared the building for sale to the best of my ability. It's cleaned out, it sparkles and is well-maintained with no deferred maintenance. As a writer of the spiritual sort, I have to live my messages to teach them. I have learned that waiting on God’s Will, a belief that there is a power greater than myself whose hand guides everything and that the Will of this greater power has my back, provides the perfect timing of all of the events (sale of the building for example) that must occur so the outcome of all things can meet with any intentions my human/material self has created.
Living the dream? Not really. I want my building to be sold. I want the change of venues to begin so I can begin the final transition. Want. Want. Want. Want is just that: want. How can I move from want to action? Where is my intention-making ability taking me? Clearly, my intention has not been clear since I'm still in want.
Okay, blah, blah. Now for the message here. I have a dream of the next step but have yet to really move fully towards it becoming an intention. The Universe is happy to provide the necessary path, tools and resources for any intention one makes first in thought and finished off by one's spoken word. My husband wants one outcome (me to fully retire), my assistant wants another outcome (each of us working from home), and, of course, I have a vision (dream?) of a different outcome. Now, at this moment, I'm going to quit vacillating between the visions of those around me. I have an intention of continuing with my writing/publishing business in a new location which also houses an Airbnb. I love helping others buy and sell commercial real estate. I shall do so in the new location (God’s Will.) I now release my building into the hands of someone who will love it as much as I have.
There, done! Intention set. What change is at work in your life? Are you waiting on the power greater than yourself for it to manifest, or are you pushing your will upon it? Is your intention for future results clear? Stated in the present tense (I am)? Written down? Are you ready for the manifestation of something better?
Living the dream? Living the intention? You decide—the power is in YOUR hands. Use it for good, but always remember, God's got this. Also, remember to practice those skills that enhance one's spirit self, such as patience, faith, love, and release, while on the journey because enhancement of the spirit self is really the only true journey the human being is about. Everything else is ancillary.
AFFIRMATION: My Will IS God’s Will.
