Jasper

Jasper is a group of quartz crystals that contain fine-grained Quartz and other foreign matter. Jaspers are formed by the bonding of oxygen and impure varieties of silica. A jasper's color is based on other minerals (elements) that were present when the jasper formed.

The word jasper comes from the Anglo-French “jaspre" which means spotted or speckled stone. Jaspers are distinguishable from other quartz crystals as light cannot be seen through them, are dull and not shiny.  Jaspers lacking a color pattern is called chert. Jasper's come in many colors:

·         Orange 

·         Red

·         Yellow

·         Brown

·         Green

·         Black

·         Blue (rare)

Jaspers typically are a combination of many colors and as a result of the ash content surrounding them as they formed over millions of years ago and are found all over the world.

Jaspers are best known for their connection (with intention) to the emotional mind-body. When working with jaspers to treat issues of the emotional mind-body such as fear, anger, love, peace, guilt, joy etc., match one of the jasper's colors to a color of the seven main chakras (after muscle testing), that tests the crystal to be igniting, sedating or balancing – the three things that crystals do. To that issue, listed below are the seven main chakras, their main color connection and a key word to describe that chakra’s emotional oversight.

Jaspers, trigonal (energizing) crystal structure, are useful for grounding and aligning one's chakra column. As they are a "slow cooking" crystal, patience when looking for results is a must. Slow, but constant is the jasper's mantra.

Use the chart below as a starting point to match a jasper’s color to the healing need. Always muscle test to confirm the jasper crystal’s energy you select is a good match for one’s electromagnetic field. Crystals only really connect to any mind-body in conjunction with a well-made intention.

·         Red – (rainbow, mookite, dragon blood) cleanses the aura, spiritual discipline, worry

·         Orange – (owyhee, rainforest, leopard skin, red flower) nervousness, release, open-mindedness

·         Yellow – (bumble bee, owyhee, rhyolite, mookite) focus, creativity, renewal

·         Green – (polychrome, rainforest, kambaba, k2) judgment struggles, self-confidence, heals repressed emotions

·         Blue – (K2, African turquoise) connects to Soul guidance for communication skills

·         Violet – (mookite) release of past decisions, balance

·         Purple – Strength, balance, meditation, glands

·         Black – (kambaba, basanite, picture, Nguni) draws energy in, confidence, shield, manifestation

Visit a crystal apothecary shop and take note of the crystals you are naturally attracted to. Check to see if the crystals are in the list above. Muscle test for crystal compatibility. A positive muscle test result may indicate the jasper crystal’s vibrational frequency will be helpful to your body’s elemental health.
