Crystal Systems

The crystal system of any crystal indicates that crystal’s primary energy archetype. All Quartz, Jasper and Agate crystals for example are of the trigonal (sometimes hexagonal) crystal system. There are six basic crystal types.

The below chart shows the six basic crystal types, the crystal system of each crystal type, and the chief energetic archetype(s) of each crystal system.

When selecting a crystal(s) often times its helpful to start with the crystal’s system (energetic signature) when you have targeted an energetically deficient or abundant mind-body(s). A crystal system is also a good foundation on which to begin muscle testing. For example, Jaspers are said to be nurturing crystals. If one is physically drained, muscle testing Jaspers for their nurturing properties may be a good place to start. Matching a Jasper’s color (or complementary colors) to the chakra needing a boost or sedation can also add to a crystal’s power to offer balance or strength to the body. Always muscle test before using a specific crystal.
