Affirmation Power (Originally Published 7/28/2022)

You never can tell how long an affirmation that you concentrated on sewing into your mental and emotional mind-bodies from the past will stay with you OR will pop into your mind when you least expect it. Recently an affirmation that I plied myself with some 48 years ago just popped into my head.

“I will persist until I succeed” was part of a self-help book written by Og Mandino in the ‘80’s. As you may know if you are a regular reader here, I have recently been the victim of embezzlement. You never know when your life can change on a dime from a range of calamities: spousal death, long-term personal injury, bankruptcy, crime, house fire – well, the list can go on and on. Embezzlement is just one of those calamities.

In my case, an eight-year member of the team fell off the edge and used my trust in her and our “God connection” to take what wasn’t hers from the many bank accounts that she was in charge of. This blog however isn’t about her. She’s just a “player” sent here to strengthen my “Light Skill” quotient.

So how am I doing?

Well, discovered more than 10 weeks ago, I have dedicated the time I normally use for writing to cleaning up the mess in the bookkeeping department that is part of my business.

Now I am focusing on being sure that I have fully come to understand everything that she did – her MO so to speak. To think like a criminal is very dangerous! Thinking like a criminal is not really filling yourself with thoughts of Love and Light. I’ve been careful to stay centered in my search for all the criminal activity that has been aimed my way.

My banker says I should be a detective because of all the data searching I’m doing thanks to bank reports from six years back. I finally feel like I’m all set. Gathered data and knowledge is filling my mental file cabinet for final sorting and figuring out the mystery like the last 15 minutes of any Law and Order or NCIS show.

A little worn out from wanting my life one way and experiencing it another way, I took a breather over a holiday weekend giving thanks for time away to be in nature. The thought of my little thief and the piles of data from the bank presented themselves as overwhelming when the words “I will persist until I succeed” blazed in my mind. Like a lightening bolt had hit, I immediately felt fortified.

All of a sudden, the comfort that I received years ago when I instilled in my psyche “I will persist until I succeed” during some trauma I was dealing with presented itself deep in my solar plexus. I immediately knew that I was imbued with the staying power to “complete the mission” at hand and do it because I planted the “I will persist” seed almost five decades earlier.

Wow. Forty-eight years ago I planted an intention in my mind that flowered up when I needed it most! Affirmations develop inner strength, but one needs outer strength to place an irreversible affirmation into one’s psyche. In other words, a conscious change of one’s mind and patterns requires outer strength/action/effort.

Be conscious of your intentions and affirmations. I supposed thoughts of “I’m a loser” or “I deserve to be stolen from” could have easily reared up to power my future if I hadn’t subscribed to Og Mandino’s “I will persist until I succeed” many years ago.

I will persist until I succeed and grateful to be doing so.

AFFIRMATION: I will persist until I succeed.

P.S. And the magic continues… TB, one of the typists who types my blogs told me that the same week she typed this blog, she just discovered two Og Mandino books in her deceased mother’s belongings that she was cleaning up.  She really didn’t think much of it until she typed this blog.  She feels (and knows) that God’s timing with finding the books and typing this blog is perfect.  She has received the message that there are pearls of wisdom in those Mandino books for her. She’s listening!!!

“I'm Catherine Wilcox, working to help others see that God is in all things, all the time, through conscious change and self-healing.”

If you have found this message enlightening, please send it to one friend.  This action will help my vision of a more enlightened species to help usher in the new healing Age of Aquarius.
