Merging Different Realities

It may be hard to comprehend that most of the time, the spirit-being having a-human-experience is always attempting to merge two realities into one experience. The obvious merger of two basic realities is the blend of material experiences with experiences hailing from the spiritual realm.
The constant theme of human reality is reconciling “now moments” with “past events”. The technical term for this ever-continuing human process is "cognitive dissonance," the period of time during which one is trying to merge the reality of the past into the present. The time period between these two events, can often kick start a bout with grief.
Hold on! Don’t leave me now because the word grief appears. Most people think about death, usually losing a loved one when the word grief is heard. Ones recurring experience w/grief can be illicited by a loss of any sort whether its personal or global. Cognitive dissonance, that time period when mental and emotional aspects are trying to merge two realities (past and present), can rear its ugly head anytime a loss occurs, whether it is losing the car keys, a job, a marriage, and so on.
The merging of realities is a human spirit anomaly, peculiar and not easily classified. However, the clashing or merging of realities for the human spirit is a daily task – the purpose of living. Working through cognitive dissonance has many paths. Here was Ed's.
Ed, born to immigrant parents and the father of three children, always prided himself on providing for his family. Ed worked himself up from laborer to plant manager over a period of fifteen years. One day, a headhunter found Ed and offered him an opportunity to earn 40% more doing the same type of job. The decision was a no-brainer. When Ed gave his current employer notice he was leaving, they offered to match his new job's financial offer. However, after much soul-searching, Ed decided it was time to move on.
And then Covid hit.
Eighteen months after Ed left his old job, Covid forced the new company to close permanently. Cognitive dissonance set in, and Ed became paralyzed. First, guilt overwhelmed Ed. Why was he so greedy to move on from his old job? How could he abandon his ability to provide for his family? For twelve months, Ed dwelled in cognitive dissonance living in a world some call depression. Been there?
Ed's wife, Lina, tells me that times were hard between them for the year Ed was unemployed. Feeling unmanly and like a cheap suitcase, Ed withdrew into himself and was angry all the time. Eventually, the whole family was also thrust into cognitive dissonance out of fear of the future. All fearful, unable to see any future. Lina worked but only part-time. She moved into a different position with the company that she hated just to get full-time work. This only increased Lina's own cognitive dissonance issues. Grief was strangling the entire family without anyone recognizing grief's stranglehold.
It took Ed twelve months to reconcile his past with his present, to forgive himself of his guilt, shame, and grief. Eventually, Ed and Lina joined forces to work through the employment changes, Ed’s job loss was eventually seen as a blessing to them. They talked it through, released the past, and opened their minds and hearts to future blessings. Their marital bond and intimacy level went through the roof. Ed got a new job that paid less but was also dramatically less demanding on his "family time."
If you are in that time period where you are in the process of merging the reality of some event of the past and the present, the first step is to recognize the time zone you are clutched in. I call it grief time. Get help. Work through the loss. Start with the below affirmation. Remember, every time zone one is in requires some shift in consciousness before one can really move on. State your affirmation and then follow Soul's urgings. Cognitive dissonances are the Soul's way of providing portals to Soul guidance when in material experiences. If you listen and follow God’s laws, you can have full access to your own powers of justice and protection for and from others.
Affirmation: I am Soul guided through any loss I experience.
