Christmas as Your Source Code


Stay with me here. For any computer program to work, a set of human instructions is written called “programming” telling the computer what to do. These instructions are known as source code. Computers are merely electronic devices used to process and store data. In other words, source code is the foundation that all software needs for the operation of a computer.

Did you ever wonder where the spirit-being-having-a-human experience gets its source coding from? First thought would indicate DNA. And, to an extent, that reaction is correct. DNA is the source code that operates the human computer.  You know, hair color, health, height, blah blah. 

DNA, the physical source code, designs every human trait the body features. What about the spirit self? What shows up as the source code to guide the spirit self?

Religious traditions and holidays? Well maybe. But traditions and holidays are interpreted by humans. Rote celebrations, food fests, gifting – all Christmas/Winter festival customs. Is spirit’s source code hidden beneath seasonal rituals and conventions? Is there even a source code that helps the spirit self-connect to/stay connected to one’s higher self? If a more spirit-based life is of no interest to you, Ho, Ho, Ho. Enjoy the ham. See you next week. However, if desire to possess a deeper meaning to all the events we call life has its hook in you, let’s continue.

I must admit, the title for this blog appeared in my mind earlier this week as if on a lit-up marquee. Wow! Great idea. Maybe. But even writing this I’m not sure where I’m going. I had to  interrupted my writing with prayer for guidance. After all, I’m never given an idea without backup data.  Ever.

The winter solstice arrived on December 21st. The winter solstice is a time where astronomically the entire Earth shifts away from the intensity of Sun in the northern hemisphere. Spiritually speaking, the winter solstice is designed to help one “shut  down”. . . to “die” to the old in preparation for what’s to come.

Around the world and for centuries past, pagans, and religions of all kinds and even the heathen sort have had winter festivals and celebrations around Sun’s messaging of the winter solstice. So yes! Celebrate today. Eat to oblivion. Love on loved ones. Even sing your favorite Christmas Carols. But know that the winter solstice has come to provide all energetic forces that are subconsciously source coding every spirit being having a human experience to “die to the old . . . what is within but isn’t working” to make way for the potential of you to rise up out of the ashes.

Time to take inventory. Is fear your driving force? Focus on finding the faith you were born with. Greedy (just another form of fear)? Trust in God’s abundance for your life and tap into generosity by anonymously giving away some of what’s in your silo. Hateful? Feeling separated from love? After your Christmas (Hanukkah, Kwanza, Dong Zhi, Soyal, and many more) celebrations, make a commitment to self. Commitments are an acknowledgement of spirit’s source code. One’s spirit self uses the commitments and intentions one sets for “higher learning” like a computer programmer uses source code to command a computer.

Today, gift yourself a gift, the gift of change. Of blessed evolution. Of spirit maturity. Decide to eradicate those thoughts, feelings, and actions that prevent Creator Source’s “source code” from firmly embedding itself into your mind. Hate no one. Judge no one. Know that at this moment, this blessed day of celebration is really God’s gift to you to use the Christmas/winter solstice  messaging  as the source code for living in light filled moments where all is well.

Rejoice and be glad for this is the day the Lord has made just for you! Be glad in it!
